4. Eligibility:

(1) Non-Chinese Ph.D candidates;

(2)Applicants shouldhold themaster degree or above,over 18 years old andbelow 45years old.

(3)For English Taught Programs, applicants should holdEnglish Proficiency Certificate : TOEFL 60or above; IELTS 5.5 or above (Except applicants from native English countries)

5. Application Documents

(1)Application Form for Foreign Students to NWU with signature;

(2)Copy of Passport Photopage;

(3)Notarized highest diploma(Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date);

(4)Academic transcripts;

(5)A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English with a minimum of 800 words;

(6) Two recommendationlettersin Chinese or English from professors or associate professors;

(7)Foreigner Physical Examination Form;

(8)The copy of validEnglishLanguageCertificate;

(9)Acceptance letterof NWUsupervisor(Students hold acceptance letter will be highly preferred);

(10)NotarizedNon-criminal Record

(11)The relative invention patents or published academic papers

Notes:Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.No application documents will be returned.

7. Application Procedure

(1)Contact a supervisor of NWU for acceptance letter;

(2)Complete online application at http://nwu.17gz.org, print and sign the ApplicationForm for Foreign Students to NWU

(3)Please post all paper documents to NWU.

(4)After internal review and evaluation, NWU will confirm with the short listedstudents for final approval.

(5)NWU will send Admission Letters and JW202 Forms for the final confirmedscholarship candidates.

Note: Please provide valid mailing address, email address, and Phone No.

8.Admission Notification

After examining the application, the admission office will make a decision on admission notification. The successful candidates will be provided with an admission notice, a JW202 form (Visa application form),Guidance for Freshman etc.. These documents will be posted to the permanent postal address of the applicants.

Usually the students are required to report at the admission office with their admission notice and other documents inMarch orSeptember (the start of new session). Failure to do so within three weeks of the new term will be regarded as forfeiting the admission.

9.Tuition and Fees

(1) Registration fee: RMB350.

(2) Tuition:36,000RMB/YEAR.

(3)Health Insurance: RMB800 per year.
